DDWA is seeking a full-time NDIS Support Coordinator
Developmental Disability WA seeks the right person to join our team of Support Coordinators. In this role you will be working full time and be based in your home office allowing easy access to your local clients. (Greater Perth, WA area.)
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 1 years’ previous experience as a Support Coordinator, with strong sector knowledge, be a great systems navigator and have values that are aligned with ours. You may have an Allied Health or Social Work background, but this is not essential.
If you:
- Like working with people
- Are familiar with the processes and regulations of NDIS and keen to help make the NDIS work well for people with developmental disability
- Can think fast in situations that could be seen as challenging
- Want a role with flexible self-managed working arrangements and the opportunity to be part of an experienced and supportive team, and
- Have lived experience of disability yourself or in supporting a close family member with disability (like most of the DDWA team)
…Then this is the role for you.
You will have a deeply held belief that all people have value and all have the right to be included (and supported as needed) in their local communities, schools and workplaces.
You will be a fast learner and be prepared to attend training and staff meetings. You will also need to be savvy with technology (our systems are all cloud based), have attention to detail, good record keeping, problem solving, time management and research skills and be a good communicator at all levels and able to meet administration deadlines.

Empowering the unpaid carer
he Carers WA Conference 2024 is Western Australia’s flagship event, held during Australia’s annual National Carers Week in October.
National Carers Week aims to recognise, celebrate, and raise awareness of the 2.65 million Australians who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend, including the estimated 320,000 carers living in WA.
This one-day conference caters to the interests of both carers and service providers. The dynamic program will explore and discuss current and emerging issues faced by carers.
Attendance options include in-person participation at Optus Stadium or joining via an online platform. Regional live viewing hubs will also be hosted in Albany, Manjimup and Esperance.
Registration is FREE for carers registered with Carers WA and for service providers.
Note: Our capacity limit has been reached for in-person attendance carers and service providers, a waitlist has been activated. Registrations for online attendance remain open.

The Peer-to-Peer Network connects people with disability and family members with others in similar situations. Groups form around local areas or shared interests, creating spaces to share, cheer each other on and offer support.
Jill, a family leader and mum to a child with a disability, is the Peer-to-Peer Project Officer. She empowers these groups to succeed.

The Minister for Disability Services is looking for new members to join the Ministerial Advisory Council on Disability (MACD).
Members are encouraged to use their existing personal and professional networks to inform endorsed research projects and contribute to the Council’s broader aims and goals. Members may also have the opportunity to represent the Council on various external disability committees.
The Council strives to reflect the diversity of the community and is inviting applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The Minister also seeks people who have experience and knowledge of complex communication special needs.
Applications close at 5pm on Monday 23 September 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
