Youth Advisory Council 2025
Background:
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) engagement project aims to empower young people in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale by giving them a voice in local decisions that affect their lives. We are seeking feedback from the community, especially youth aged 12-17, on what issues matter most to them and how they would like to be involved. Through this project, we want to hear your ideas and suggestions to help shape the future of youth programs, events, and services in our community. Your input is vital in making sure the YAC reflects the needs and interests of young people across the Shire.
The role of a YAC member usually includes:
- representing the views of young people to local government
- developing and organising activities and events for local young people
- encouraging greater participation of young people in community initiatives, and
- helping distribute information to young people and the wider community.
