Background
The Shire has received a development application for a Child Minding Centre at Lot 15, 34 Beenyup Road, Byford. This development application was advertised from Wednedsay, 21 July 2021 to Tuesday, 10 August 2021, but is now undergoing a second consultation period following revisions to the application.
Subsequent to the original advertising process occurring, the applicant has amended the design of the proposal which modifies the orientation of Activity Rooms 3 and 4 as shown on the Revised Architectural Drawings. In addition, the applicant has submitted an updated Environmental Noise Assessment.
The development application seeks approval for a single storey building with outdoor play spaces provided.
The proposal still comprises of:
A maximum of 120 children, which will include up to 24 babies (less than 24 months old), 30 toddlers (24 – 26 months old) and 66 kindergarten age children (greater than 36 months old);
Minimum of 19 full-time staff employed on-site at any one time; and
Operations hours will be from 6.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
The development proposes a total of 31 bays including one disabled access bay, a shared space vehicle turning area and 19 staff parking bays exclusive to staff use.
