Consultation has concluded and a decision has been made.
Outcome
At its March meeting, Council noted the implementation (subject to approval from Main Roads) immediate safety improvements along the section of Keirnan Street in the vicinity of the freight rail, to slow traffic down and provide for safe pedestrian and cyclist movement.

Background
With planning of Stage 1A of the Keirnan Park Recreation and Sporting Precinct, together with the projected population growth in Mundijong and Whitby, improving pedestrian connectivity across these precincts is critical. This has emerged as an issue due to the difficulty the Shire has faced in securing a new pedestrian crossing at Keirnan Street and Paterson Street.
Three pedestrian routes have been outlined across Mundijong and Whitby to facilitate improved connectivity for pedestrians, noting the difficulty in securing a new crossing at Keirnan Street rail interface.

We are seeking community feedback on what a preferred pedestrian route may be, noting the approved pedestrian maze at Evelyn Street rail crossing. We seek your feedback on:
Prioritisation for implementation of the three pedestrian routes
How you may like to utilitse the pedestrian routes
Any other ideas or matters relating to pedestrian connectivity between Mundijong and Whitby
