At its May meeting, Council resolved to proceed with Local Planning Policy 4.23 (Lot 164 Yangedi Road, Hopeland – Serpentine Airfield Development Standards).

This Policy addresses the need to achieve consistency and safety in respect of development standards for the Serpentine Airfield, with a focus on the various structures on the site.
The purpose of the policy is to address the following matters;
Hangars and their use;
Sports Aircraft Builders Club Communal Area;
Future developments; and
Addressing pre-existing development, to address retrospective application requirements for short term habitation.
The proposed Draft LPP 4.23 also addresses bushfire mitigation issues, as well as ensuring the site meets all planning, building and environmental health regulations.
