Background

The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is growing faster than most other local government areas in Australia, meaning we have a constantly evolving and ever-changing community.

To ensure we are best supporting our community, we are developing an Activation Strategy to ensure community-focused services are relevant and contemporary in meeting the needs and aspirations of our residents.

The Activation Strategy will also aim to empower local residents wanting to play an active role in their community – helping the Shire to grow a vibrant, connected, inclusive and caring community, together.

What’s happening now?

We are currently seeking feedback from the community before developing the Draft Activation Strategy.

Feedback is being collected through our Activation Strategy surveys to help us understand the most important needs and desires of the SJ community, so they may be included in the draft strategy.

We want to hear from a diverse range of residents about the kinds of services, events, activities and support they think would help them engage more with their community in the future, ensuring the Shire remains a great place to live for everyone.

If you are a passionate community member or business owner and are interested in helping to drive the future of a connected and inclusive Serpentine Jarrahdale, we want to hear from you.

How can I give my feedback?

Two separate surveys are currently open for submissions, one pertaining to residents and another to businesses.

Each survey can be completed by clicking the links below:

Shire representatives will be available to answer questions and to assist with the completion of the survey at a variety of locations during the consultation period, including:

  • SJ Community Recreation Centre (6 September – 38 Mead St, Byford)
  • Serpentine Food Truck Fiesta (9 September – Clem Kentish Oval)
  • SJ Library Services (858 South Western Highway, Byford)
  • Targeted Youth Engagement (Various locations)

Surveys close Monday, 19 September 2022.
