These changing demographics will impact the types of services, places, activities and events that our community will want and need into the future.
The Shire wants to hear from our diverse range of residents regarding the types of services, programs, activities and/or support they feel will be necessary, for them to remain connected and engaged with their community now and into the future. The Shire also wants to understand if and how people want to be more engaged and involved with their local community.
How will my feedback be used?
Feedback will be sought anonymously via an online survey.
We will review the results of the survey and identify themes and priorities which will help the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale develop a 3-year Activation Plan.
The intent of the strategy is to facilitate healthy, connected, caring, inclusive, resilient, and liveable communities, giving consideration to the local population, local identity and local amenities and services.
Who will make the final decision on this project/initiative?
The information received through this consultation will help inform the content of the Activation Strategy, which will then be presented to Council.
What is an Activation Strategy?
An Activation Strategy aims to ensure that the Shire’s community-focused programs and services are relevant and contemporary in meeting the needs and aspirations of our residents.
This encompasses everyone residing in the Shire - including young people, those from culturally diverse backgrounds, seniors, members of the LBTQI+ community, parents, couples, singles and anyone wanting to contribute to a vibrant, connected and liveable community.
The Activation Strategy also aims to empower local residents wanting to play an active role in their community.
Why are there two separate surveys?
The Shire is interested in understanding the aspiration, capacity and role of both individuals within our community, as well as service providers or businesses within our community in contributing to the Activation of the area.
As a result, we have a survey for community members to fill out, and a survey for business owners or operators to fill out.
Can I complete both surveys?
If you are both a community member and a business owner or operator in the Shire of Serpentine, you are welcome to complete both surveys.
Can I contact someone if I need help completing the survey?
If you need assistance completing the survey you can contact the Shire on 9526 1111 and ask for a member of the Community Development team.
We can provide you with a hard copy of the survey to complete, or we can complete the survey with you over the phone.
