Consultation has concluded and a decision has been made.
Outcome
At it’s February 2023 meeting, Council adopted Local Planning Policy 4.25 – Uniform Fencing.
This policy sets outs the minimum standards and requirements for Uniform Fencing for new residential estates and development within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
The new Local Planning Policy relates to the construction of Uniform Fencing within the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and aims to outline the requirement, design standard, implementation, and maintenance of external estate fencing on the boundaries of new residential development and subdivision applications.
This policy will be utilised to ensure future developments do not apply inconsistent materials, materials which are not robust, and concerns of external overall appearance along major road corridors which border existing and planned development areas.
The Shire is bringing our policy in line with the City of Kwinana as there are many east-west roads that we share. This is to promote consistent development throughout these areas.
