The public comment period has now closed regarding a proposed amendment to the Byford Townsite Detailed Area Plan in relation to Character Area H.
The amendment to the Byford Townsite Detailed Area Plan (Character Area H) is in response to the Byford Metronet Project and the future extension of the railway line.
Currently the plan seeks for a new road to be constructed adjacent to the existing railway line which would service the lots within this precinct. However, given the land requirements for the railway line this is no longer a viable option.
The proposed amendment would result in the construction of an internal access road to service the lots. Access onto South Western Highway would be via two shared access points. This would result in an all new development being located towards the rear of the lots to allow for the internal access road, as depicted on the plan.
