The review of the Shire's Strategic Community Plan (now rebranded 'Council Plan') was an exciting opportunity for the community and the Shire to develop our 10-year blueprint to guide the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale for the next ten years.

The Shape our Future - SJ 2033 engagement project that ran in March and April 2023 was all about capturing your ideas and shaping them into a 10-year strategic plan for a thriving future. We encouraged the entire SJ community, from seniors to youth, families, sports groups, volunteers and businesses to help shape our future and share their thoughts.

Thank you to everyone that provided feedback via an extensive community engagement process. Residents had the opportunity to provide feedback by attending one of our five workshops, our many pop-up events, and/or via our survey earlier this year. We have received over 600 responses that enabled us to develop a Council Plan 2023-2033.

Thank you for further providing feedback on the Council Plan 2023-2033. The consultation closed on Thursday, 31 August 2023.

Three central themes guide how the next ten years will look at the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale:

• Thriving - A well-planned Shire which supports our community to flourish through sustainable growth, partnerships and leadership
• Liveable - A protected, enhanced and safe natural and built rural environment, with access to services and facilities
• Connected - Connected and vibrant neighbourhoods, celebrating our history and diversity
