Background
The Shire has received a Development Assessment Panel application for a Grouped Dwelling Development (Lifestyle Village) at Lots 59, 60 and 61 Briggs Road and Lot 62 Thomas Road, Byford. The proposal includes 202 Grouped Dwellings and incidental resident amenities. This follows the model of what is termed a ‘lifestyle village’, being for people aged 55 years and above.
The application will be determined by the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel (MODAP), who will replace the Shire as the determining authority.
The proposal entails the following features:
The subject site has an area of 87,842.52m2;
The site would be developed with 202 Grouped Dwellings;
The construction of communal facilities including: a clubhouse, potting shed, fire pit, arts and crafts rooms, community garden, a workshop and lawn bowling facility;
Visitors, boats and caravans parking space;
Access to be taken via a central access road connecting to the existing road network via Briggs Road;
Landscaping and the construction of street infrastructure.
