At its meeting on 21 November 2022, Council approved a time limited development application for a change of use (conversion) of a single house and shed to a ‘Place of Public Worship’, for a period of four years from the date of approval, at Lot 3,155 Warrington Road, Byford subject to conditions.

Background

The Shire has received a development application seeking a time limited approval for a "Place of Public Worship" to be established within an existing shed and dwelling for a period of four years at L3,155 Warrington Road, Byford.

Specifically, the applicant is seeking the conversion of the existing shed to an auditorium with a capacity of 136 seats, storeroom, cry room and kitchen.

The main operational activities the centre would involve the following:

• Two playgroups operating between Monday - Friday;
• Bible Studies – Monday to Friday;
• Exercise classes – Monday evening.
• Food Market – Thursday morning/afternoon
• Youth group – Friday evening
• Sunday worship
