Outcome
At its June meeting, Council approved the application seeking to amend Condition 5 of the original approval dated 26 February 2018, to provide for a validity of 10 years instead of five years, subject to conditions.

Background
The Shire has received a development application for an extension to the approval time of an Extractive Industry at Lot 137, 394 Hopeland Road, Hopeland.
The proposal seeks to extract sand from an 11.2 hectare area of the site for a further period of up to five years. Operational hours are proposed to be Monday to Saturday 7am – 5pm.
Onsite infrastructure would include a site office, vehicle/equipment compound, toilet and a re-fueling facility (self – bunded diesel above ground tank).
Following extraction, it is proposed to rehabilitate the site for use as a horse agistment facility
