  • Share are the SJ residents rates paying for this? and if its to stay an off leash dog park, i hope its fenced correctly as I've already encountered loose dogs that don't know what horses are and want to chase them, not a great combination in the same space. Its dangerous for horse and rider and dogs if they get a kick in the face! the gates need to be self closing and escape proof not the turnstile type they are now that the dogs can get under. on Facebook Share are the SJ residents rates paying for this? and if its to stay an off leash dog park, i hope its fenced correctly as I've already encountered loose dogs that don't know what horses are and want to chase them, not a great combination in the same space. Thank you for your question. At this stage, the Jarrahdale Oval and Recreational Trails Head Space will be funded by the Shire.

The dog park will be fenced to appropriate standards to facilitate effective and safe use. The particular design and materials used in the fencing are not yet decided, however the integration with surrounding land uses will be considered.

  • Share Whilst I support the idea of the development of the Jarrahdale Oval for multi use, I am concerned that the off leash dog area is in stage 4. You do not give any indications of programming of these improvements but being stage 4 to me would indicate that the development of the off leash dog area is one of the last things on the list, with our current facility being developed for other use and therefore not available to the dogs. Where are we going to be able to exercise our dogs during this development stage? This facility has become very popular and there are a lot of people who use this area now at various times during the day. on Facebook Share Whilst I support the idea of the development of the Jarrahdale Oval for multi use, I am concerned that the off leash dog area is in stage 4. Thank you for raising this important aspect. The Shire is aware that the off-lead dog area is well utilised by the community and we will endeavour to have this facility available (in some format) as the development progresses. The specifics with regard to the development timeframes and staging have not been determined yet and the continued provision of an off-lead dog area will remain high on the priority list. Once future funding is secured and a more detailed project program has been determined this will be communicated to Jarrahdale residents.
