Accessible Toilet Facilities - Jarrahdale Cemetery

Outcome

At its meeting in July 2021, Council authorised the Shire to execute the necessary funding agreement to install the proposed accessible toilet facility at the Jarrahdale Cemetery.

Background

The Shire has undertaken a site analysis to determine the most suitable location for proposed accessible toilet facilities to be placed at Jarrahdale Cemetery.

The need for toilet facilities was first identified to provide amenity to visitors to the cemetery.

The location of the Jarrahdale Cemetery is also opposite the entrance to the popular Kitty’s Gorge Walking Trail, which has seen an increasing number of visitors over recent years.

The proposed location of the new toilet facilities will be designed to benefit visitors to both sites, while preserving the large mature trees. It is proposed that the toilet facility design will be sympathetic to the heritage character of the Jarrahdale area.
