FAQs
Why is this Policy targeting specific stakeholders only?
The Shire is targeting specific stakeholders to provide input on this Policy. The content of this Policy is most relevant to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety and any Licensed Fireworks Contractors within Western Australia, as it specifically addresses the principles set by the Shire when responding to a Fireworks Event Notice.
Relevant Shire staff, including the Emergency Services and Environmental Health Teams, have been consulted and their input has been incorporated.
How will my feedback be used?
As a key stakeholder to which this Council Policy relates, your feedback is important and valued. Any comments you have submitted for consideration will be reviewed by Shire Officers once submissions close and may be incorporated into the draft revised Policy.
What happens when engagement on this Policy closes?
Any comments or feedback will be reviewed by Shire Officers and may be incorporated into the Policy. A final draft revised Council Policy – Fireworks will progress to Council for consideration at a future Ordinary Council Meeting.
Once the Policy is adopted by Council, the adopted version will be uploaded to the ‘Past Consultations’ page on the Shire website.
