Outcome

At its July meeting, Council resolved the following:

1. Adopted the final Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Equine Trails Master Plan and Summary; and

2. Requested that the Shire President and the Chief Executive Officer advocate to the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions for continued equine use of the firebreak/trail bordering the Cardup Nature Reserve.

Background

The Serpentine Jarrahdale Equine Trails Master Plan was developed by specialist trail planners, Tredwell Management, following a period of community consultation in 2021.

It maps existing equine trails and provides opportunities for improvement and expansion of strategic equine trail networks throughout the Shire.

The plan will provide strategic guidance for the long-term viability and management of Serpentine Jarrahdale's local equine trails.
