Development Application – Retrospective Transport Depot - Lot 101, 956 Kargotich Road, Oldbury

Background:

The Shire has received a development application for a ‘Retrospective Transport Depot’ seeking approval for the following:

• Parking of up to a maximum of twelve (12) commercial vehicles consisting of a combination of semi-trailers and rigid trucks.
• The business involves the hiring of trucks on long term projects where the trucks remain on the worksite for the duration of the period they are hired.
• Vehicles will be parked on site whilst on off hire and leased to contractors when required.
• No materials are brought back to the property or stored on the property at any time.
• Vehicles are proposed to be parked on an existing hardstand of approximately 2,200m².
• Minor repairs of the vehicles like tyre changes and electrical maintenance will be undertaken on site.
• Major repairs, cleaning of vehicles, servicing of vehicles, changing of any liquids for any vehicle will not be undertaken on site.
• No fuel is to be stored on site, all commercial vehicles are refuelled off site.
• Parking of two bobcats, two forklifts and civil works equipment, including family light vehicles inside the existing shed.
• Hours of operation are proposed to be 5.00am to 7.00pm, Monday to Saturday.
• Up to three staff members of the family to be employed.
• All truck drivers are sub-contracted and are only engaged when a new hire project commences.
