FAQs
What is the purpose of the Youth Plan?
The Youth Plan will guide the Shire’s youth services over the coming years, ensuring that our programs and initiatives meet the current needs, interests, and challenges faced by young people aged 12-24. It will also align with broader National and State goals, supporting a coordinated approach to youth development across our community.
Who can participate in providing feedback?
We welcome input from young people aged 12-24 who live, study, or work in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, as well as parents, guardians, educators, and community members who work with or support youth. Your feedback will help shape a plan that reflects diverse perspectives and local needs.
How will my feedback be used?
Your feedback will be used to identify priorities and areas for growth in youth programs and services. It will help us understand what’s working, what’s missing, and where we can improve. This input will directly influence the development of the Youth Plan and future youth initiatives.
How does this Youth Plan differ from existing Shire plans?
While the Shire has a broader whole-council plan, the Youth Plan focuses specifically on young people’s needs and goals. It aims to create a targeted approach to youth services and opportunities for program and staff growth, filling in service gaps and tailoring initiatives for local youth.
What areas are being focused on in the Youth Plan?
The Youth Plan will focus on engaging the whole community to support youth development, coordinating services, defining the Shire’s role in addressing youth issues, expanding programs, and identifying new opportunities for young people in the Shire.
